Orange palm dart

This little butterfly and others of its species are a fairly common sight around the garden. Lately they've been hanging around the Egyptian star cluster flowers, like the blue banded bee. Clearly it was a good plant for the Resident Gardener to grow.

Today a friend and I went to Emu Plains, a suburb in western Sydney an hour's train ride away, to meet another friend for lunch. A mere warmish day around home, it reached 32C in Emu Plains. Tomorrow the forecast for my part of Sydney is 35C. I hate to think how hot it will be in Emu Plains.
