Examen

Got to the end of the day with no photo, so this is a mise-en-scène of our new nightly ritual of read a Psalm, light a candle, have time to mull over the day, tell what gave life and what took life, and then pray - a simple variation of Examen. The aim is to live better, and to go to bed at the same time (even if I then tend to read for a while).

Had various things to get in Évora, so we took advantage to watch the Brazilian film, Ainda Estou Aqui (I'm Still Here), directed by Walter Salles, the true story of a family during the military dictatorship. Excellently done (Fernanda Torres won golden globe for best actress), and only one bit quite hard to watch (in case, like me, you don't want to watch awfulness). The title refers to the fact that, though Paiva's torturers and killers have been identified, they have never been punished, and are still there, walking the streets of Brazil (as are the survivors).

Gratefuls:
- more rain
- safe driving
- chats with all three kids, and with colleagues
