Flower arranging
Today I travelled to Newcastle and back by train to visit Mummy hazelh in her care home. It was good to see that she is being well looked after. My five hours in her company today confirmed that my sisters and I made the right decision to hand her into the care of professionals.
We spent most of the time in her room together listening to Radio 4 while I labelled the last of her clothes and belongings. I then organised the items in her cupboard, two chests of drawers, and wardrobe. When I arrived, superficially these looked fine. However, on closer inspection the organisation of the items was rather random. I sorted Mummy hazelh's clothes into four places:
1. Top drawer of chest of drawers: underwear.
2. Middle drawer of chest of drawers: nighties on the left; short sleeved tops on the right.
3. Bottom drawer of chest of drawers: scarves on the left; knitwear on the right (extra).
4. Wardrobe: summer dresses and spare dressing gown on the top shelf; coats, skirts, trousers, and long sleeved tops on the rail; footwear at the bottom.
I've included the detail above so that I can check it on my next visit and see whether the system has been maintained.
In my blip, Mummy hazelh is arranging the tulips that Ailish (her grand-daughter, my niece) gave her on Sunday.
Exercise today: walking (23,045 steps).
