CHAPTER EIGHT BARRIERS

Did a few chores and some admin this morning. Booked an eye test and booked a charity bag collection - both for a couple of weeks time.  Also did an online Superdrug order.

At around 12.30pm I headed off to the hairdressers.  My appointment was at Style Council - the nearest hairdressers to my house  - and I was there in time for my 12.45pm appointment.   Its around a year since Ive been to the hairdressers ( I don't enjoy going ) and my hair was getting really long with no style to it.  Its now a lot shorter and tidier. See Extra for a photo of the back. .

The hairdressers is next door to the small Morrisons local so I popped in there before coming home.. Didn't really want any shopping but I caught sight of a multi - buy offer on tins of sweetcorn -  £1.20 each ... or two for £2.  I bought two tins and for some reason I was charged £2.80 instead of £2. .  Luckily I had checked my receipt before I left the shop and was able to get a refund.  I hate being overcharged even for a small amount.

Back home for a cup of coffee ... and a nap.  Watched some TV later.  Catching up with the Channel 4 series Patience.  Its different.

Weather today was dry but quite chilly and dull.

My blip shot was taken in The Close just across from my house..  Northumbrain Water arrived this morning and as well as these  holes there are others along the paths in the main road all protected by colourful barriers and sandbags.  The Wide Wednesday theme is colourful and/or Striking  Thanks to StevenG for hosting.

Apparently this type of barrier is called a Chapter 8 Barrier. They are plastic safety barriers that are compliant with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs Manual, and the New Roads & Street Works Act. The main purpose of these plastic barriers is to ensure the safety of both road users and workers during roadwork activities, construction projects, and events.  They are usually highly visible and brightly coloured and also incorporate reflective materials.
