An unexpected encounter

 My partner for the circuit training in the gym this afternoon   is a  new young woman whom I had not seen before. 
As we begin our workout, I strike up a conversation, curious about her background. She’s an accountant.

As we move from one station to another, I ask her opinion of President Trump.
"He will make America rich," she says with unexpected confidence. 
"Really?"
"Well, he will make some people very rich," she says  her voice steady and assured.

"How?" I am curious about the rationale behind her assertion.
"AI and robotics," she says  without missing a beat. It was clear she had given this matter considerable thought.
"What about the poor people? Will their lives be better?"
"Of course not!"
Her bluntness left me stunned.
 
"But they voted for him.”
She shrugged. 
Suddenly the future looked alarmingly close, as if turkeys had voted for Christmas.

PS. Today Trump announced a  multi billion dollar investment in  AI infrastructure  while cutting  the green energy budget.
