Above the mist

The advantage of residing well above sea level is that any mist generally forms below.
A crispy layer of frost and ice on the pheasant water buckets on this wind free morning showed that it was well below freezing.
Dippy was bright eyed and his tail although not that bushy just managed to keep up with the rest of his body as he cavorted around, simply grateful and happy to be alive, myself likewise.
Six long tailed tits were simultaneously feasting on the peanuts with a frenzy of activity on the other feeder and on the coconut shells containing a fat/seed mixture. I had remembered my binoculars and enjoyed watching and listening to a couple of woodpeckers in the canopy..
After a sociable time in town we strolled through the surrounding countryside again catching a glimpse of the setting sun in the far west. A fun and friendly couple of hours at choir practice before climbing under the warm Duvet.
