I stayed up way too late last night, first watching Patience on Channel 4, followed by the three-hour mini-series The Fall: Skydive Murder Plot— about the bizarre but true story of Victoria Cilliers, who plummeted 4,000 feet when both her parachutes failed to open,  the police investigation and the eventual conviction of her husband.

Today, I just about managed to shower and have breakfast before Andrew arrived in the Plum van with our Ocado shopping. Hot on his heels was Paul, who popped by to do some last-minute measuring and checks for our new kitchen design.

Today's been a grey, cold, and wet day, and it wasn’t until late afternoon that the sun finally made a brief appearance. I took advantage of the break in the rain to bring in the bins, take down the hanging baskets (in anticipation of tomorrow's storm Eowyn), and squeezed in a short walk around the village in the fading light.
