Wednesday: Farewell Diane

We said goodbye to my Aunty Diane today.  The funeral service was at the West Road Crematorium, followed by a get-together at the Cullercoats Crescent Club, scene of many a family gathering over the years.

It was wonderful to see so many people turn out for the service.  120 in the chapel with standing room only at the back, and people outside who weren’t able to get in.  It was a lovely service, with humour.  One thing that really came through was her kindness and her ability to bring people together.  

We gave her a good send-off.
