Anyone for cricket?

Today was the last meeting of our Book Chat group before we broke for the Summer hols and, as an end of term treat, we met for lunch at one of the members' home. She lives in a grand Victorian villa that I've coveted for many years, mainly due to the gorgeous wrought iron verandah that surrounds the house.

During lunch she unearthed this lovely photo which shows the local choir boys meeting for a game of cricket in the garden of her home in 1892. In the photo you can clearly see the verandah, and it hasn't changed a bit to this day!

How lovely to live in a house that has such a history...
