SMOKEY SUNSET

What a difference a day makes.  I took this photo last evening, white the HUGHES FIRE was raging & the smoke generated a AIR QUALITY ALERT.
It seemed apocalyptic, when more fires started & the wind got worse
& worse, over night.

Today the situation has improved: several fires are being managed & the
HUGHES FIRE has calmed enough to cancel evacuation warnings
in my county.  It does not appear to be coming this way, although
the smoke made it seem otherwise.  And we have electricity, even though there are continuous threats to turn it off.  

The wind should gradually lessen later, & we are being promised
rain on Sunday.  What a relief.

To everyone in Britain & Ireland:  I send my best wishes that 
Storm Eowyn brings no harm.  Blessings to you & to all
your wing-ed creatures.
