Lunch with the girls

Well what a horrible day weather wise, absolutely bouncing down all day!!

Drove into Manchester, met sis & girlfriends of 50 years plus for our first get together of the new year….. at The Wharf. We were 3 down today, one in Spain, one stranded at home in Anglesey, having just been told her car has been written off. That was as a result of a neighbours trampoline blowing two doors down over the fences & landing on top of J’s car during the last storm on 7 Dec, taken until Wed to tell her it’s a write off!….. and one who is still working ;-)

Me & sis arrived almost together, the other 3 caught the tram & initially went to the wrong venue, they were like 3 drowned rats when they walked in….. we had lovely food, shared a bottle of fizz….. & a small dessert & coffees.

We try not to do “old folk talk” lol, but having my sis & bestie, both with short hair, having had the all clear from breast cancer recently, me losing N, G recovered from skin cancer & J’s partner living with prostate, initial conversations were dominated with health updates! Once that was done we picked up our usual banter & laughs, recounting past outings even got to remembering our parents when they were tiddly briefly over Christmas :-))))

Drove home, traffic getting out of town was slow, rushed in, got changed, packed my bag to go over to Cs this evening, filled my cool box with “stuff” from my fridge that will need to be used up, put my bins out, loaded everything into the car……bided my time, had a quick brew & got on the road for 6.30…… M62 was horrendous with the heavy rain.

Cleared as I hit the A1 thankfully…… made good time despite the weather, got there 8.35, watched the rest of the MU v Rangers match, better performance, a wins a win ;-)!
