Life is a Challenge!

ONE OF MY FAVOURITE PEOPLE AT CHURCH

I have just checked back in my photographs, and I don’t appear to have blipped this lovely lady before, but she is definitely one of my favourite people at Church.

We have been trying to make a date to go out for breakfast/coffee for sometime now - and today was the day, so we went to Jack’s.  Abi had breakfast but I just had a coffee because I had had my breakfast earlier, and it worked out well - while she ate, I chatted and at the end of the morning - and she chatted too - wondered where the two hours had gone.

We chatted about lots of different things and Abi has a wonderful way of asking “open questions” so that before responding, it makes you think about what you are going to say, rather than just give a trite answer, and I love her for that.  Often when you have been hurt by different things that have happened, or perhaps are still happening in your life, it is easy to “push them down” and not look at the reasons for the hurt and why you feel that way, so this morning I definitely felt as if I was able to look deep inside myself and respond to Abi honestly and openly.

We had some interesting conversations and two phrases came up quite a lot - one was “It’s all about balance” and the other was “A Christian shouldn’t have a wrong side to be rubbed up!”  See my extra shot - both very true.

This shot is so typical of Abi, and as Mr. HCB said last night as we drove home from the Church Meeting, “You never see Abi without a big smile!” and that is true too.  Some people have the knack of drawing others out and Abi is one of those people.  That’s not to say that all has been plain sailing for Abi and her husband Matt - far from it - but whenever I speak to her I feel that she is genuinely interested in knowing about me and in fact, learning about how I tick - although sometimes I don’t even know that myself!

The second shot in my collage are hands that I saw in a shop opposite Jack’s and they reminded me of some words of a Hillsong Worship Song we sang at Church on Sunday evening - the second verse speaks of walking with God through tears and joy, but still trusting Him - which we have both had to do in our lives.  I am so grateful that this lovely Christian lady is part of my life and my journey.  It was a good morning and now the sun is shining, so a great day so far  - THANK YOU, Abi - we must have breakfast/coffee again soon!

Into Your hands I commit again
With All I am For You Lord
You hold my world in the palm of Your hand
And I'm Yours forever

Jesus I believe in You
Jesus I belong to You
You're the reason that I live
The reason that I sing with all I am

I'll walk with You wherever You go
Through tears and joy I'll trust in You
And I will live in all of Your ways
Your promises forever...

Apologies for not commenting last night, but I will try and get round to it today.
