Train Challenge No 11
Gloucester Cathedral cloisters
I did it, I finally escaped! With Dad at daycare and the homesitter looking after him on his return, I had seven glorious hours to myself and with my BC friend, took a direct train from my local station to Gloucester this morning.
The worst of Storm Éowyn had passed, leaving beautiful blue skies, though still very windy. We headed straight to the cathedral and spent three and a half hours there: so much history to discover, two visits to the Monk's Kitchen for lunch and then again for a cuppa and cake, and of course there was a visit to the gift shop where Christmas presents were bought!
Took dozens of photos, some of which I've added as extras (phone has jumbled up the order), eventually to be collaged (don't have the time right now). In the meantime I'll leave you to choose your favourite. My last extra is an arty farty shot, contrasting the new with the old.
A grand day out, just the medicine I needed.
Total train journey time = 2hrs 5mins
Thank you for your kind stars and hearts for yesterday’s blip of a damp Bath Abbey.
