Éowyn
Yesterday was a washout. Thanks for all your kind comments on my blip and sympathy for the lurgy. I didn't even have the energy to read and spent most of the day dozing. Anyway, enough. It's only a virus and it will pass. I've been very lucky and not even had a cold for ages so I can't complain when there are so many bugs flying around.
But the weekend is off. My sister, BiL & their Shropshire -based friends can't travel. Well they maybe could but the effort would be immense and I can't have them to stay, which was the plan. We are all going to miss the Burns Night ceilidh which is both a big fundraiser for the riding project and a brilliant night. No eightsome reels for us tonight. It's so disappointing.
Éowyn blew in with ferocity. My blip is the tree which came down in the back garden. It's a bit of a tree - the stag horn sumac. It'll survive. What you can't see but is a bit more worrying is the fence across the end of the garden which has also come to grief. It's a big, substantial fence which spans three gardens and replaced a collapsing stone wall about 20 years ago I think fencers are going to be very busy.
There's not a breath of wind this morning. We didn't lose electricity and as far as I can tell the roof is ok. The strength of the wind was scary so I think we got off lightly. Hoping the same for all of you.
