Day 4 - Melrose to Edinburgh

Woke to a fine drizzle which soon cleared and the day was warm and great for cycling. Today was a day of two parts. The first was more of the previous day of ups and downs to Innerleithen. The scenery was gorgeous. The second part was 10 miles up and then 10 miles down.

We had lunch in a lovely cafe before we started the epic climb up the Moorfoot Hills. It felt like we started climbing as soon as we left Innerleithen, however it was a gentle climb. We cycled through amazing countryside, quite remote and bleak countryside which was beautiful. I think this is one of the most beautiful roads I have cycled on and I would recommend it highly. We climbed to 400m but it was steady and not too taxing - even for Tracker Girl!

The views of Edinburgh from the top were fantastic and the decent down into Edinburgh was great fun. The last 4 miles to the campsite were a bit nerve racking through a rush hour Edinburgh out skirt.

The route - Melrose - Innerleithen - Bonnyrigg - Edinburgh

Sorry, for all the typos yesterday I have gone back and corrected them - It really didn't make sense - even to me!!
