It's the reel deal

When clearing and sorting out the loft, Mark came across his 1973 Phillips N4510 tape deck. It has not been used for decades! With it is a box full of reels of music from the 60s, 70s and 80s. 

He spent hours today getting it to work.  The inner workings looked mystifying - see the extra! And now as I write we are listening to Bruce Springsteen. Oldies pleasures!
