Ballet Shoes
Took the day off to meet a friend for a trip to the theatre today. Got the train up to London with Paul as he happened to be meeting a friend as well today.
Lots of catching up to do as we haven’t seen each other since last summer but we had time for coffee and lunch before the performance so we had a good natter. The show was very good. Based on a children’s book that I’d enjoyed in my younger days, but to be honest, I couldn’t remember the story at all, although the three girls names were familiar - Pauline, Petrova, and Posy. I think there must have been some bug going round the cast because the stage manager came on just before it started to say that two out of the three girls were being played by understudies, plus another understudy for a different character! He also said we might see him helping with the scene changes (and there were a lot of those), because they were just so short staffed. We wouldn’t have known though - they were all very good and we both enjoyed it.
Home in the train again with Paul - I was surprised how busy the 4.40 train was from Waterloo -m but we just managed to get a seat. Tiring day though - how did I ever manage to work in London!
