The office wall

So we moved out of our office before Christmas because of the damp and mouldy wall. Not much has happened so far except they have removed the offending plaster (plus some plaster elsewhere that was loose) and they’ve discovered the cause of the problem - a drainpipe hopper that was blocked and so water was running down the wall. But because the drainpipe was enclosed in the cladding that was put on when the library was refurbished 5 years ago, no-one noticed it was blocked. So it’s now been agreed that the hopper will be cleaned out every 6 months to stop it happening again, and the wall will be replanted once it’s dried out. Still no idea how long all that will take, so on we go in our temporary desks.

Round to a friend’s house after dinner but really I don’t enjoy going out in the evening any more - too tired to be bothered, I’m afraid! Nice to catch up with her though.
