St Pancras station and Coal Drop Yard

I saw a picture of the fabulous staircase at the refurbished hotel in St Pancras station on Instagram a while ago and thought it would be brilliant to see it.
Judy had suggested we go to the new Kings Cross development - Coal Drop Yard today so en route we snuck into the hotel and wandered around looking at the stunning staircase and corridors. We had coffee in the old booking hall, then carried on to the new Kings Cross. It is a fabulous development and as well as converting the old buildings, they have stripped out the old gasometers and built really funky, industrial looking flats within the gasometers. So clever. We wandered down to the canal and watched a boat coming up through the locks. Then had a delicious lunch in Mare Market. There are fabulous shops there. Mostly independent. I bought lots of 'stuff' I needed. Such a fabulous day. Non stop chatting and just relaxing.
