EIIR Vs CIIIR

Don't worry, it's not a royal dispute.
No photographs today, it's been quite busy with the girls not even halfway through opening all of their presents.
On the Royal British Legion Riders Branch forum someone said that there are new pins, badges, patches etc. with the King's crown on. Many people are responding with words to the effect "I served under HM Queen Elizabeth and I'm not changing my patches".
I think they missed the point really, these things are available but we must remember that King Charles III himself said he doesn't want things changed in a hurry, it would create waste.
I responded, on the forum, saying there's nothing wrong with wearing, or displaying, both the EIIR and CIIIR badges and patches alongside each other. I also said that I won't be changing my Queens crown topped RBL Riders crest, on the left of my leather 'cut', because there is just no need to.
Some people do like to rant where there really is nothing to rant about!

P.S. just in case you wonder what the pin badge is that is attached to the EIIR patch, it's the 'Queens Award for Voluntary Service'. I obtained that when I did 5 years volunteering with the Jet Age Museum in Gloucester.
I also volunteered with Avro Vulcan XH558 for 4 years (2011 until she stopped flying in 2015). Now I'm volunteering with the Royal British Legion. When I was in Saudi Arabia I was also the Chair of the Riyadh Scout Group. It's good to serve as a volunteer, gives you something to do and keeps your mind occupied, plus you are doing a lot of good in the meantime.
