Lady Fyfe's Brae playground
I had to collect the car from the garage today - trying again to sort out a persistently deflating tyre which defies all attempts to plug the leak - wherever it is.
On the way there I passed this mound on Leith Links, very close to my dentist experience of yesterday - I can still taste cloves!
This outing looked fun. I wondered how many knew that they were playing on one of two remaining artillery mounds, reportedly built for a siege in 1560. Not to mention the burial grounds elsewhere on the Links. It was too nice a day to worry about that.
There was also a missed blip opportunity as I drove back to the office in the knowledge there were a couple of immediate emails requiring attention. With no place to stop I saw a man dressed in full proper Star Wars Stormtrooper outfit ( with his headgear under his arm) standing at a bus stop. It would have made a good blip! Welcome to the Edinburgh Fringe.
