Multitasking

There are times when I stop and realise with astonishment how technology has transformed our lives.

20 years ago I had to decide whether to leave the bus stop and run to a nearby phone box to alert the nursery that the bus would be delayed, and probably miss the bus's arrival!

Now the mobile and bus apps make such a scenario so much less stressful.

Texts, GPS, pop up are now accepted by the younger generation.

I've really enjoyed the coverage of the Commonwealth Games but the scale really struck home when I noticed that we were watching the diving on live TV ( which we could pause and rewind and not miss anything) ; while one laptop was on boxing; and another (both connected by wi-fi) had a split screen on hockey and athletics.
