A cat's perspective
Watching the work proceed on the front steps. It's pretty fun watching the stone treads being cut, on a saw out under Mrs. Tree, and then assembled in a big mosaic. There's still some snow on the ground, but not for long!
Tired day, glad to be home. Did home chores and some enjoyable family history research, tracing the McIlquham/McLam family from Vermont to Michigan to Washington in the 1800s. Read about the "Scotch-American Company of Farmers" that, earlier, had settled land in Ryegate, Vermont. All of "my" McLams stayed in Vermont except the youngest two brothers, Walter and Alexander; they set out with their families for Ontario and Palouse.
A quiet evening with scrambled eggs for dinner.
