Moose Bath
This morning I planned to show you Hallett Peak at sunrise at Bear Lake. After stumbling out of bed at 4 am, yawning my way through a bowl of porridge and going into the park, I took several pretty good pix of Hallett in the orange morning light.
And then a crash reverberated to my left. What was it? A big fish flopping on the water? Did someone fall in? No, neither. This magnificent bull moose was strolling into the lake for his morning bath. He noted us, but decided we were no threat.
With water up to his neck, he swam languidly across the lake to the delight of the eight of us collected on the bank. He splashed his mighty antlers in the water, first left and then right, and when he finally reached the other side, he eased out of the water and out of sight.
So, today you get a moose. I'll try for sunrise again later.
