Back in that London

Worked at home this morning, packed and wolfed down a quick lunch, then Tim drove me to Barnstaple to catch my train. My next train from Exeter was rather delayed, so I did a lot of waiting around and bought a coffee, primarily to warm up my frozen fingers.

Finally arrived in Paddington about an hour late. Luckily I didn't have any plans to meet anyone this time (it was my friend Lizzie's Mum's 80th today, so she couldn't meet up), so it wasn't really a problem.

I treated myself to a cocktail in a can at M&S, then caught the Tube over to Hammersmith, where I was staying (reusing a booking from when I'd been due to go to a conference there in November, but was scuppered by Covid). I was trying to find a Leon to buy some dinner to take back to my room, but came across a Wagamama and decided to eat in instead. Very nice it was too :) Then checked into my hotel, called Tim, and had a relaxed couple of hours before bed.
