TaTs - dawg & stuff

Sometimes life is just pants

To be fair this is to advertise a Cervical Cancer Awareness Event in the Community Hub.

Meanwhile the “medical fun” continues.  I last blipped 18 January when we had had the paramedics out for dad.

On the 20th I took Graham for the MRI follow up – he was so weak I ended up pushing him in a wheelchair.  The clinic was running 90 minutes late and Graham had a full panic attack in the waiting room.  The positive is that there is no fracture but all sorts of cartilage problems made worse by the gout caused by his kidney disease.

At 4am on 22nd I was woken by my parent’s next-door neighbour to say my dad had had another bleeding event and was on his way to A&E in an ambulance.  I went round and cleaned the bathroom floor then went and sat in A&E until they discharged dad at 7:30am.  The lack of sleep meant I had to skip going to the theatre that afternoon.  However A&E did an urgent referral to the vascular clinic (next Tuesday).

On 24th Graham had to have more blood tests to check whether his kidney disease is stable.
I then had a peaceful weekend and on Monday (27th) I took Kassie to have her teeth cleaned – a gentle (non-vet) procedure.
I told my friend in a text that I felt relaxed (jinx) and then at 11:05pm Jayne phoned to say dad had had another bleeding event and 999 were being funny about sending out paramedics.  Sense finally prevailed and by 12:15am he was being assessed.  They agreed if he dozed on his recliner chair so his legs were raised, they wouldn’t take him to A&E.

Yesterday it took me and my sister 40 minutes to clean the blood up – I learnt from these paramedics that if there is blood loss it shouldn’t be cleaned until they have seen it because they will show photographs to A&E if appropriate.  We then went to chase up the GP who is being pretty useless.

Today I went to post a parcel for my mum and buy a sandwich from Greggs – hopefully that’s all the excitement I have.
