St Oswald

Apologies for the wide distorted photo . I wanted to capture  the fact that St Oswald was looking lovely on this sunny morning and it was doubling up as a Post Office today. This is now our nearest PO since  the one in  Staveley closed. The owner in Staveley had been a victim of the PO scandal and all the publicity brought back the trauma.  This one in the church is only open 3 mornings a week so we have to be organised. 
Mr P walked St Oswald's Way last summer and we learnt that St Oswald was king of Northumbria in the early 7th century.  I have no idea why this church built in 1881 is dedicated to him
