Archie was going out with Elizabeth today, so we went for lunch to Pomelo. We were first in the queue. JR came straight from the gym. So by two minutes past twelve, we were all seated and the place was FULL. ‘Asian Fusion’ - very tasty, but er, a bit too hot for us…
Walked back, gathered my bits and pieces for the bank, still trying to move direct debits. But no, it’s not something banks do!! Why not?
Anyway, I got a teller, and I think things were sorted, except O2, and she suggested I go to the shop. Good idea.
But the first chap had noticed what I pay for house insurance, and thought it looked rather a lot. So after the DDs were sorted, I was whipped upstairs, and thus began the excruciatingly LONG quiz. On and on and ON. The teller, wisely left me to it, and if anyone had looked in the office (glass walls) they would have seen a poor old person slumped over the table, possibly dead. But nobody came to see if I was indeed, still alive.
When I eventually finished and came downstairs, the bank was closed, the staff were having a yak, and from the startled look on their faces, I’m sure they’d forgotten I was still upstairs.
I then went to the O2 shop, and that was ANOTHER marathon!! I had to go away for an hour, as they were very busy, but eventually I was seen by a nice young lady who was just marvellous. She could see I was paying too much, and set out to sort it. This took a LONG time, because she changed the TV and two phone contracts, and saved us HEAPS.
So, all in all, it was a very productive day, and, home after 6pm, I’m exhausted.
(9,654 steps).
