The demolition of the shopping centre, hotel and more continues. I stopped and watched for a few minutes. I was involved in the original construction in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The site was beset with problems and it got caught up in the recession of the time. It didn’t open until 1992. It is allegedly going to become a new civic centre. The early artist impressions are already proving controversial with some.
