Hindsight’s Lesson
Dear O'H dear, Lovely Tea Jenny and The Mini Princesses,
The imagination of youth
Thought long in the tooth
Would be scary and fraught
But really it’s not
Looking back at the past
I had such a blast
But my piece now fits fine
In this jigsaw of mine
Insecurities gone
About how to belong
Would I be allowed
To fit in with the crowd
There are creases and crinkles
And cellulite dimples
But they don’t cause a flap
They are part of the map
Of a life that’s content
Because of time I have spent
With those I love most
And always hold close
