Life's Little Moments

Something about seeing a chickadee always makes me smile - they are so tiny and yet so seemingly unafraid.  They are very quick to learn to take seed from a human hand, and seldom leave the feeders when I draw close.  Cheery little birds.

It's been a busy day for me with lots of last-minute errands leading up to my departure on Saturday.  Hubs made me a nice breakfast of fruit, eggs and whole grain toast and then later we went for a light lunch in town.  And tonight it's lamb chops and fresh veggies.  There was a time when I'd have had a glass or two of something rich and red, but tonight I will settle for some sparkling water.

Had a nice FT chat with my parents today which was a perfect way to mark my birthday.  It's not a milestone birthday although some would say that as the years advance, maybe they are all milestones.

The 500 mm lens I rented for TX arrived a day early, so I had a chance to put in on my z8 body and grab a few shots, this being one.  It's a heavy lens so I will probably mostly be shooting it on a tripod, although I can manage it for short sessions handheld.  I rented this lens the last time I went to TX so I'm familiar with it and like the way it renders backgrounds.  The gear for this trip will be this lens, a 100-400 and my nifty fifty.

Time to go organize my Kindle for the trip - lots of airplane/airport time so I want to make sure I have a good selection of books loaded and ready to go.

Happy birthday to me!
