Primula Alaska Blue Gem

Our usual garden centre visit with Kanyl looking for coffee and cake not to mention blips.  Frankly I am not sure of the order of importance whether the blip out ranks the coffee or not.

We visited Houghton Hall again as Clickychick wanted to check if a particular table was still available.  This gave me a problem.  On Monday we visited another garden centre in the same chain.  This meant the varieties available to blip were the same.  I had to ignore the hellebores.

A few years ago we visited a blipper who had a plant nursery, during the conversation as we looked round he said "I'll tell you how to make money out of Primulas!  Don't grow them" .  It seems that the money retailers were prepared to pay for Primulas wasn't good enough for the work required, far better to grow something else.  I don't know if the situation has changed but there were masses of primulas on show.  Recent years have seemed to bring forward new varieties.  This is one I have only noticed in the last year or so.
