When D was settled this morning, I took Jess out for a walk. It was our first venture into the forest since Storm Eowyn, and the landscape had certainly changed. The path up through the conifers was all but impassable - easier for Jess than for me, as she could get beneath the horizontal trunks, while I had to clamber over them. Coming down, as you can see, there was often a path to be found around the fallen trees.

This afternoon, the internet came back on, after 10 days. It will be most useful for being able to contact friends and family, as we have no phone reception in the house. No doubt I shall find other ways to let it eat up my time, though :-)
