Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Archie's new friends turned up at the alloted time. He was up at the window ready for them. Though we still have no gate, so don't really want him running down the path. But he met them with barks and tail wagging, though possibly not sure who they were...

They took him for a long walk, a couple of hours, - round the route we did the other day, so quite far. They seemed happy with the experience. AND they met Alexander Mcall Smith (a famous Scottish author) who greeted Archie in German (him being a schnauzer)

Shhh! Archie thinks he's Scottish!

So, we've changed the house insurance to the bank one, cheaper, but also allows free monthly debits, while the other lot charge for the service. AND they kindly gave us a welcome £5 voucher off a meal... SO generous!

JR continued washing the windows. She's done the front ones, but they're easier to reach at the back (no garden in the way). Archie was worried about her up a ladder, so I took him out round the block. We popped in to see Mary, haven't seen her for ages. She's well, though less mobile than last visit.

Hoping that the electrician can come this evening and have a look at our defunct underfloor heating in the bathroom, but he's running very late, as they do.

And the Six Nations has started! First game this evening. Sure makes the long cold spring a bit more bearable.

PS. The electrician did come - at 7.30! He has identified the problem - needs a new part. He has three more jobs before he can go home!
