The Longest Drive!
We set off at 05.55 hrs this morning from Barcelona by van (Transit-sized) and arrived in Calais at 22.00 hrs, 16 hours later including three twenty-minute motorway service-area stops. The kilometres involved were about 1,350 but I need to check the odometer readings to be sure.
The Waze app for route planning completely screwed up on the Paris part and had us trundling down single-width but two-way back street roads beside the Seine! Ludicrous! It added more than two and a half hours to the estimated time in other apps.
Still, we enjoyed the Millau Viaduct in my main shot. And some wonderful views of the Massif Central as well, ascending above the snow and cloud lines. A day for the driving books!
PS
The mission is to bring some furniture items back to Barcelona as we clear Mum’s flat now that she is in her care home and a sale is imminent!
PPS
I directed Dd to take this shot as my hands were on the wheel
