Glasgow, cathedral,, history

After a extended breakfast with our friends in the hotel, Charles and I went on a walk around the east end of Glasgow. Even though I have been to Glasgow for many times, either for work or pleasure, I have never really explored the east end of the city. So we headed past George Square and Strathclyde University up to Glasgow Cathedral. What a magnificent building that survived the Reformation. We then went to the Necropolis, the cemetery on the hill,  with a magnificent view across the city. Them it was down the hill past the Tenants brewery, into a rather rough part of east Glasgow, on the way to Glasgow Green. We had lunch in the West Brewery before walking past the People's Palace down to the Clyde and back into the city.
We caught up with our friends watching six nations rugby and for dinner headed to the Persian restaurant Saffron by Paradise.
What a great day!
