Busy day at the feeders
We had more snow overnight so I had to knock the snow off the feeders before I could fill them this morning. I also had to shovel a path across the deck. I had chickadees, goldfinches, white breasted nuthatch, the northern flicker, downy and hairy woodpeckers, the female cardinal, with 2 male cardinals plus the usual starlings, morning doves and pigeons. This squirrel won the morning. He would jump to the small feeder, grab a peanut, then go back to the railing to eat it.
I finished another jigsaw puzzle, worked on a diamond art painting kit, shoveled the driveway and cleared the snow off the truck today. By 2 pm I was getting restless, so I decided to bundle up and go to the Ice Sculpture Festival. I put the ice grippers on my boots before I left and I was glad that I did. The sidewalks had been cleared and salted, but the street and intersections were slushy and slippery. The extra is a couple of the sculptures on the waterfront. I do with they would put a different colored curtain around some of the tents. Ice on a white background is hard to photograph.
We had a few inches of light, fluffy snow last night and this morning. It cleared off late this afternoon, but it has been a cold, windy day. The temperature this afternoon was -8 C with the wind chill of -15 C. Tomorrow is sunny and cold again. I may go back down to the festival after brunch and take a few more photos. There were some sculptures that were not finished this afternoon.
