Biogas holder
Morning provisioning walk for bread and a newspaper; cold and sunny.
Afternoon walk started with a somewhat delayed tram journey; the trams were running as many people as they could towards Murrayfield for the rugby match which interfered with the schedule for people who wanted to go towards Newhaven; there was switching at Balfour Street.
From the Foot of the Walk we went along Leith Links to Seafield; then in along the Marine Esplanade. Blip is a biogas holder and the associated flare stacks. This is at the Western end of the Seafield sewage works.
We climbed up the berm to the West of the road, disturbing a group of rabbits. There's a view over the reclaimed land to the East of Albert Road. This is likely to see its next use as a manufacturing facility for offshore wind turbine blades.
We walked along the road by the seawall; there were quite a few pied wagtails about, no bird life visible on the sea side. A long line of gulls were standing evenly spaced on the pipes in the sewage plant. From there to Portobello, to Kings Road, and a number 19 bus back to Leith Street.
