The battle continues

The squirrel has discovered that it can walk down the twig the feeder hangs on, across the squirrel baffle, while hanging on by its back legs. And get to the suet filled half-coconut. This morning when I came down the entire coconut half had gone, that round to him! 
I felt disproportionally angry:-) and started searching online - how to make the squirrel dome more slippery. Quickly I discovered all wildlife sites say not to do that.  Whatever you use - WD40, cooking oil, Vaseline - would be extremely harmful to birds and squirrels. So I thought of something mechanical, a bit Heath Robinson and I’ve covered the twig it walks down with a plastic bottle.  I expect it will take him a few days to figure out how to destroy it, remove it, wriggle through it. When I first bought the squirrel baffle he really was baffled. Here That was about two months ago. He’s playing a long game…
