In the garden
Ruth came over with the boys for lunch: the first time we've been able to get together since I caught the pesky virus. For now, it feels as if the outside world is coming back into focus: a big relief, after over a week of brain fog and fatigue.
After that Richard went out for a walk, and I did some work in the garden. It's been a still, sunny afternoon, a good opportunity to distribute some compost around the beds. Some much-needed exercise, but not too strenuous.
This is a perennial wallflower, which blooms for most of the year (they are not long-lived plants, however; perhaps they just burn out). A photographer whose work I follow makes some lovely images by shooting through foliage, to get a soft and misty effect. (This is just one of her techniques, I hasten to add). So she was my inspiration today. It's Jo Stephen, and her work is really worth looking up:
