Redwings
Not the best blip in the world today but I've noticed at this time of year that the parks nearby become full of thrushes that don't really appear at any other times. On my way to the food bank today there was a flock of them just by the car park, and I had my camera with me! This enabled a proper identification and I'm pretty sure that they are Redwings, so that's another new bird to tick off on the list. Really cute little birbs.
There's been some new volunteers at the foodbank and today I met a few people I hadn't met before. Unfortunatley two of them were gentlemen 'of a certain age' who both managed to be rather patronising within the space of about half na hour. The first told me to not trouble myself and keep on playing a game on my phone whilst I was actually just logging my next shift in my calendar, and then the second said that I must be a feminist and wouldn't stand back and let a man do something when I was perfectly capable of doing it myself, just because I helped him carry some tins into the warehouse. Which is part of my job as a volunteer. Maybe I was just being prickly, but I didn't appreciate either comment. Luckily the other volunteers are all fab so they make up for it!
