The wall
Walked to the surgery this afternoon to visit the local vampire yet again. Called in at the pharmacy on the way, to hand in some over-prescribed prescription drugs to be disposed of safely. Much to my relief it was the same phlebotomist as last time - blood taken with no pain and no bruising afterwards. She's an expert!
Popped into Lidl, conveniently situated opposite the surgery, before walking home. By the time I left it was getting dark, and when I walked up this hill the streetlights were on. They're tall streetlights, and much of the wall towards the bottom of the hill is higher than the lights. It's a retaining wall, and just above it on the hill are houses. Several times recently, on my way up or down the hill, I've passed a very elderly gentleman who delights in scaremongering. "Watch that wall", he says, "it leans more every day". Er, I don't think it does...
