Clutter free

I was quite pleased that I was in bed by 11 p.m. I woke at about 3 a.m. and struggled to sleep for a few hours; the last clock I saw was 5:30 a.m. Finally, at 8 a.m., the alarm roused me, but I used the snooze for a further twenty minutes. I’d been drinking plenty of water, so there were no ill effects from last night except for the need to use the toilet a lot and a salty taste, which is the side effect of the kebab.

Just before 5 p.m., I was Waterloo-bound to meet the 5:30 p.m. Portsmouth train and the ferry connection to the Isle of Wight. I was pretty sleepy on the train but listened to more Young Again.

PY met me at Ryde Pier, and we walked to the flat. He’s arranged chicken pies for dinner. We ate them and settled for a “couch potato” night watching Tracker. As the evening faded, I found a couple of episodes of The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning were enough to make me evaluate my surroundings for possible clutter. The nice thing about the flat is that we keep it reasonably clutter-free. Some might argue that the fake flower is unnecessary, but it adds a touch of warmth, and I think the shadows are pretty.
