Monday Sunrise
Monday. The start of a new week for us, bringing with it a small but exciting change to our routine. Little Man had nursery this morning, as usual, but from this week onwards, he’ll be attending four mornings a week instead of three. I think he’s going to love the extra time there— he always comes home full of energy and, sometimes, new words. It’s great for his development and socializing with his little friends.
As always, we biked there, but on the way, I noticed my tyres felt softer than they should be. It wasn’t anything major, but enough to make riding a bit sluggish. After dropping him off, I dashed back home to quickly pump them up before setting off again. I had a meeting at Ferm Werk, the company handling my unemployment benefits and supporting me in re-entering the workforce. With my slightly firmer tyres, I began the 11-kilometre journey. It took a little longer than I had anticipated—just over an hour—so I had to call ahead and let them know I was running slightly late. Thankfully, they were understanding, and the meeting itself went well. It feels good to be figuring out a way of getting back into a job.
On the way home, I stopped at the supermarket in Waarder to pick up a few things. Once home, I quickly put everything away, grabbed some apple slices for a quick snack for Little Man, and then set off to collect him from nursery. He had a fantastic morning and was full of excitement when I arrived. It’s always lovely to see him so happy after his time there.
The rest of the day was quiet and relaxed at home. Little Man played, I read some of my book (on my Kindle), and just enjoyed each other’s company. For dinner, we treated ourselves to fish and chips. After dinner, my parents called, and we had a lovely chat with them. It’s always nice to catch up, and Little Man enjoyed saying hello to his grandparents.
Hopefully, Little Man will sleep well tonight without waking up, as he has done the last few nights.
The missing part of Little Man's toy was found this morning. It was the rear axel of his favourite Playmobil tractor. Little Man loves taking the axels off and dropped it in his pushchair. It then rolled across the floor when I got him out and I didn't notice it until this morning. Little Man was very happy.
