Big Freeze

Today it was -30C when we ventured out, but it had been -39C earlier in the morning. The trees were really frozen - check also the extra showing details of the frozen trunks and branches.  No skiing today - we knew that it would be quite impossible as our breath would form ice masks on our faces (one experience like that 25 years ago was enough).

The strangest thing is that in 48 hours the temperatures are expected to rise to +3C over here due to the Föhn winds from the Gulf stream over Norway.
