Star magnolia

I've been wanting to blip one of the star magnolia buds for ages.  I see the bush from my kitchen window, but today being TT, I was inside taking shots of such things as peppercorns and mustard seeds for the 'kitchen' challenge.  Then I turned the camera onto this and in the end much preferred it because of all the silky fibres and water droplets.

So here we are - not TinyTuesday, but fun all the same.

I wonder how long it will be before the bush is in flower.

And there I am.  I didn't go out but have done various jobs around the house and chewed over all the extraordinary dramas that seem to be thrusting themselves on us right now.  Yet another one this morning, courtesy of recorded delivery letters to J and K about their dad who died 11 years ago.  I think the world has gone mad.
