Campbell Town

One of the wood carvings in the park next to the famous Red Bridge in Campbell Town. This was our gelato stop on the way from Launceston to Hobart this afternoon. In the morning we visited the two QVMAG sites in Launceston. First was the Museum at Inveresk. Extra 1 shows "Bolt" a 2006 sculpture by David Hamilton. Extra 2 shows a Tasmanian wedge-tailed eagle (stuffed). Extra 3 shows part of the exhibition of photographs by Olegas Truchanas (and his tent). He was the first person to document the Tasmanian wilderness through photography but sadly was drowned in 1972 whilst on an expedition. We then went over to the Art Gallery at Royal Park to see the exhibition Gentle Protagonist - Art Of Michael McWilliams (extra 4).
