The Feast Day of Saint Colette. Born 1381. Died 1447. She was the daughter of a carpenter and his wife. They had prayed incessantly to St Nicholas for a child.
Patron Saint of expectant Mothers, sick children.
Saint Colette was born when her Mother was 60 years old. Saint Colette was a pious child, very prayerful and she was successful in founding 17 convents, where the nuns enjoined to practice extreme poverty and "perpetual fast and abstinence."
This Friday has been pleasant and the main feature was the low temperature, 4c but felt like 0c this morning.
There was some sunshine and light, that being a blessing.
I did some washing and vacuuming.
I crocheted and did some reading.
I followed Holy Mass and after my lunch, watched an episode of Father Brown on BBC1.
Hunter and Holly have been quiet and such a joy to have as feline companions.
The dear garden birds have clearly missed the wooden bird table. The starlings stayed gathered, yet it took several hours for them to attempt eating from the new seed and mealworm cylindrical feeders. If two managed to land on the feeder together that stabilised the feeder.
