Lilies

When I used to buy lilies for my photography students, I used to buy them on Wednesdays, hoping that by Sunday they would have opened up in my warm home.

This Sunday one of our church families is having their son baptised. I didn't think our flower rota was running yet so, yesterday, I went and bought some lilies and gypsophila. Later in the year I would have added some blue irises. After just one day at home, I had to take the lilies down to church as #2 Daughter is arriving later and she is allergic to them. Luckily the anthers hadn't yet burst open to expose the pollen.

I invited The B-I-L to come along and have a meal tonight with us all. I bravely made a main and dessert I've never cooked before!
