Panama to Pacific ARC

Not my picture of course as it is one taken by the live webcam at the Gatun Locks, Panama this morning. However, my cousins are in the sailing boat just behind the big ship EUKOR.  As I sailed across the Caribbean with them last summer I feel very invested in them and Aqualuna. They are the centre boat in a raft with two other boats and have a pilot and rope catchers on board. There are three locks up at the Atlantic side and three locks down to the Pacific.

Technology is in this case an amazing and heart-warming thing. I have been watching their progress all day on a Marine App - their boat as a  pink icon with a label saying how fast they are travelling and Lat/long. Then, I can see them live as they pass through the webcams plus Claire has sent bits of video so we can see (and hear) what it's like from the water. We stand in awe of their seamanship and are crossing fingers for their next challenge, crossing the Pacific.
